This Pioneer Post (also known as Pioneer Press) edition contains many articles about student life, local performances, and sports scores.
Articles of interest also include "Dear Mrs. Molnar. " A former student from IRJC, Jim Ross, wrote an open letter to Mr. Molnar, an Indian River Junior College professor. He talk about his regretful decision to drop out of school to fight the Vietnam War. In the Vietnam war, the United States was involved since 1959 when it sent advisers to support South Vietnam. The United States became involved in this war in 1964 with the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. According to the U.S. Department of Veterans affairs "Approximately 2.7 million American men and women served in Vietnam. During the war, over 58,000 U.S. military members lost their lives and 153,000 were wounded. There were 766 prisoners of war of which 114 died in captivity." The United States used the draft throughout the second half of the sixties through the early seventies.
